What is an MP3-CD?

MP3 is a compressed audio file format. MP3 stands for "MPEG-1 Audio Layer-3." An MP3-CD can hold up to 16 hours of audio, compared to a regular CD, which holds only 74 minutes of audio. Because of the small file size and good fidelity, MP3-CDs are a logical choice for audiobooks.

Where can I play an MP3-CD?

Listening to an MP3-CD can be done on your computer (using Windows Media Player, iTunes, or similar software), on a portable MP3 player (such as the Apple iPod), or on a home or car stereo that is MP3 compatible. Most of the newer CD and DVD players will play MP3-CDs, and will be labeled as MP3-CD compatible.
